Traveti Dal (Mixed Pulses)

Ingredients |
- 1 cup Toovar dal
- 2 tablespoon Moong dal
- 1 tablespoon Bengal gram dal
- 1 Tomato
- 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon Red chilli powder

- 1 1/2 tablespoon Oil
- 1/2 teaspoon Mustard seeds
- 4 Cloves
- 1 inch Cinnamon
- 1/4 cup Coriander leaves
- 1/4 teaspoons Asafoetida

Method |
Mix all the dals together and rinse thoroughly. Soak the dals in twice the amount of water for 30 minutes. Pressure cook the dals till completely tender.
Heat oil in a small pan, add musturd seeds and allow to crackle. Then add cinnamon, cloves and asafoetida. Fry for 1 minute. Pour in the dal. Beat the dals to form a homogenous mixture. Add the chopped tomato and all the other remaining ingredients. Simmer for 12-15 minutes.
Serve hot garnished with chopped coriander leaves.
