Potatoes and Tomato Curry

Ingredients |
- 1/2 kg Tomatoes
- 1/2 kg Potatoes
- 1/4 kg Onions
- 1 teaspoon Red chilli powder
- 1/4 teaspoon Turmeric powder
- 1 small Lemon juice
- 2 teaspoon Sugar

- 1/2 teaspoon Cumin seeds
- 4 pieces Cinnamon
- 3 Cloves
- 2 Bay leaves
- 4 tablespoons Oil
- Salt (As per taste)

Method |
Boil and chop the potatoes. Chop the tomatoes and onions. Blend the tomatoes and the onions in a mixer to make the gravy.
Heat oil in a deep bottomed pan, add cumin seeds, cinnamon and cloves. When the seeds start spluttering, add the bay leaves. Add the chilli and turmeric powder. Saute for 1-2 minutes. Add the tomato–onion paste and boil for 10 minutes. Add a little water if necessary. Add the boiled potatoes, sugar, salt and lemon juice. Cook further for 5-7 minutes.
Garnish with chopped coriander and serve with chapattis.
