 Magaj (Gram flour sweet) 
  • 500 grams Bengal gram flour
  • 250 grams Sugar
  • 50 grams Khoya
  • 10 Almonds
  • 10 Pistachios
  • 2 teaspoons Cardamom powder
  • 250 grams Ghee
Peel and blanch the almonds and piastachios and set aside. Slightly pound the cardamom seeds.

Rub the gram flour with half the amount of ghee and sieve.

Heat the remaining ghee in a pan and saute the sieved flour till it turns golden brown. Add the crumbled khoya and stir on a low heat.

Heat the sugar with water enough to make a syrup of one string consistency. Add the sugar syrup and powdered cardamoms to the flour mixture. Mix well.

Pour the mixture into a flat greased plate. Cut into desired shape and allow to cool. Garnish with chopped almonds and pistachios.
