 Mouli (Fish Curry) 
  • 1/2 kg Fish
  • 4 Onions
  • 2 cups Thick coconut milk
  • 5-6 Curry leaves
  • 1/2 teaspoon Ginger
  • 3 Garlic cloves
  • 5-6 Green chillies
  • 1 teaspoon Refined flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon Fenugreek seeds
  • 2 tablespoons Lemon juice
  • 3 tablespoons Mustard oil
  • Salt (As per taste)
Grind the ginger, garlic and onions to a fine paste. Marinate the fish with salt and turmeric for half an hour and deep fry.

Heat oil in a deep bottomed pan and fry the ginger-garlic-onion paste. Add the curry leaves and the coconut milk and let it boil. When it starts boiling, add the fried fish and cook on a slow flame till the fish is done.

Heat 1 tbsp ghee in a small pan and fry the garam masala powder for half a minute. Take the pan off the fire and add the methi seeds, once the methi seeds turn brown add into the coconut milk and fish curry. Make sure that the methi seeds do not turn black. Add lemon juice just before serving.

Serve hot with steamed rice.
