 Masoor Dal (Black lentils) 
  • 1 cup Masoor dal
  • 1/2 teaspoon Cumin Seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 2 Green chillies
  • 2-3 tablespoons Oil
  • Salt (As per taste)
Wash and boil the dal with about 2 cups of water till it is tender. Mash the dal.

Heat oil in a deep bottomed pan, add the cumin seeds and fry till they are light brown. Add the sliced onions and fry until golden brown. Add the mashed dal into the pan along with turmeric powder, salt, and green chillies. Simmer for about 10-15 minutes.

Garnish with chopped coriander. Serve with steamed rice.
