Illish Macher Paturi (Hilsa fish steamed in banana leaves)

Ingredients |
- 1/2 kg Illish (hilsa fish)
- 4 teaspoons Mustard seeds
- 3-4 Green chillies
- 1 teaspoon Turmeric powder

- 1 tablespoon Mustard oil
- Banana leaves
- Salt (As per taste)

Method |
Make a paste of the mustard seeds and the green chillies. Mix all the ingredients together and rub it onto the fish pieces evenly. Wrap the pieces in banana leaves. Heat a heavy bottom frying pan, put the wrapped fish pieces in it. Cover and cook on a low flame till the fish is cooked (the banana leaf will dry and shrink).
