 Doi Maach (Fish in yogurt gravy) 
  • 1/2 kg Fish
  • 4 Onions
  • 1 teaspoon Ginger paste
  • 1 Bay leaf
  • 1 teaspoon Garam masala
  • 5-6 Green chillies
  • 100 grams Refined flour
  • 150 grams Curd
  • 3-4 tablespoons Mustard oil
  • Salt (As per taste)
Evenly coat the fish pieces with salt and turmeric.

Heat oil in a deep bottomed pan, fry the ginger paste, chopped onions, garam masala powder and flour well. Add the fish and fry till the fish is thoroughly cooked.

Lower the flame and add curd, salt and green chillies. Simmer till oil leaves the sides of the pan.

In a small pan, heat some ghee and add the bay leaf. Once the bay leaf changes colour pour it over the fish.

Serve hot with steamed rice.
