Aloo Gosht (Mutton cooked with potatoes)

- 1/4 kg Mutton
- 1/4 kg Potatoes
- 1/4 teaspoon Chopped ginger
- 3 Garlic cloves
- 3 medium Tomatoes
- 2 Bay leaves
- 2 tablespoons Red chilli powder

- 1 tablespoon Garam masala
- 2 tablespoons Curd
- 3/4 litre Water
- Salt (As per taste)
- 3 tablespoons Ghee
- 1 tablespoon Coriander leaves
- 3 medium Onions

Method |
Make a paste of two medium sized onions, ginger and the garlic. Finely slice the remaining onion. Beat the curds well and mix with 1/2 cup water. Puree the tomatoes.
Wash the meat and cut into pieces. Heat ghee and saute the chopped potatoes till golden brown. Remove from fire and keep aside.
In the same ghee, fry the sliced onion till transparent, add the bay leaves, onion-ginger-garlic paste, red chilli powder and salt. Saute for one minute. Add the meat and cook till golden brown, stirring often. Keep adding curd occasionally. Add a little water. Cook till the meat is tender. Add the potatoes. When the potatoes are almost done add the tomato puree. Cook till the puree blends well with the gravy.
Sprinkle garam masala over this and serve garnished with coriander leaves.
