Arisi Uppuma (Rice Uppuma)

Ingredients |
- 1 cup Rice
- 1/2 cup Grated coconut
- 2 cups Water
- 5 teaspoons Oil
- 1/2 teaspoon Mustard seeds

- 1 teaspoon Bengal gram dal
- 1 teaspoon Black gram dal
- 4 Dry red chillies
- 6-7 Curry leaves
- Salt(As per taste)

Method |
Grind the rice to rava (Semolina) consistency without adding water.
Heat oil in a thick bottomed pan and add the mustard seeds, chana dal, urad dal, red chillies and curry leaves. When the dals turn golden brown, add coconut and fry for a minute or two.
Add 2 cups of water, salt and when it boils add rice. Keep stirring for 5 minutes to avoid lumps.
Transfer the contents to a vessel and pressure cook for 10 minutes.
Serve with tomato chutney.
