Rajma

Ingredients |
- 1 1/2 cups Kidney beans
- 1 tablespoon Ginger-garlic paste
- 2 Red chillies
- 150 grams Chopped onions
- 250 grams Tomatoes

- 2 teaspoons Red chilli powder
- 2-3 cups Water
- 1 teaspoon Garam masala
- Salt (As per taste)
- 2-3 tablespoons Oil

Method |
Soak the rajma overnight. Pressure cook till the beans are 3/4th done. Heat oil in a deep bottomed pan, add the dried chillies Fry.

Add the onions and sauté till golden brown. Add the ginger-garlic paste, fry on a low flame till golden brown. Add chopped tomatoes, chilli powder, salt and cook till the tomatoes are pulpy. Stir occasionally. Add the rajma and water. Stir well.

Cover and cook on a low flame for about 30 minutes or till the gravy thickens. Allow to cool. Before serving mash some of the rajma against the side of the pan for a creamier gravy. Add the garam masala and simmer for a few minutes. Garnish with coriander leaves.
Serve with bread, roti or just plain rice.
