Dohi Maccha (Fish in yogurt gravy)

Ingredients |
- 1/2 kg Fish
- 1 cup Curd
- 1 inch Cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric powder
- 2-3 Green chillies
- 1 teaspoon Refined flour
- 3 tablespoons Mustard oil

- 14 Garlic cloves
- 6 small Onions
- 3 inches Ginger
- 2-3 Red chillies
- Salt (As per taste)

Method |
Rub the fish with salt and turmeric powder. Shallow fry for a few minutes, the fish should maintain its whiteness. Grind 5 onions, 12 garlic cloves, ginger and red chillies to a fine paste. Finely chop the remaining onion and garlic cloves.

Heat 1 tbsp oil in a deep bottomed pan, fry the onion paste and cinnamon till golden brown in colour. Keep aside to cool.
In a bowl, mix together the curd, fried onion masala, green chillies, flour, chopped onion and garlic. Add fish and 2 tbsp oil. Simmer till the fish is cooked. Add water if required.
Garnish with coriander. Serve hot with rice.
