  • 2 cups Yellow moong dal
  • 1 cup Toovar dal
  • 1 cup Bengal gram dal
  • 1 large Potato
  • 1 large Onion
  • 150 grams Pumpkin
  • 75 grams Raw papaya
  • 2 small Brinjals
  • 5-6 Papadi beans
  • 1 medium Radish
  • 2 Drum sticks
  • 2-3 Red chillies
  • 1 tablespoon Panch phoran
  • 1 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 1 tablespoon Mustard oil
  • Salt (As per taste)
Boil the drumsticks with salt, 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder and keep aside. Roast the moong dal till light brown in colour. Chop all the vegetables in 1 inch sized cubes. Mix the dals and vegetables together.
Pressure cook with salt, turmeric powder and 2 cups of water till the first whistle. Do not overcook.

In a deep bottomed pan, heat oil, add the panch phoran and red chillies. When the seeds start crackling, add the sliced onions. Fry till light brown. Add the tomatoes and fry till pulpy. Add the boiled vegetable-dal mixture and water if required. Simmer till completely cooked. Serve with rice.
