Podi Mamsumu (Spicy Fried Mutton)

Ingredients |
- 1/2 kg Mutton
- 1 cup Curd
- 1 tablespoon Red chilli powder
- 1/4 teaspoon Turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon Ginger paste
- 2 teaspoons Coriander powder
- 4 Cardamom
- 3 inch Cinnamon

- 3 Cloves
- 1/2 cup Oil
- 2 Sliced onions
- 1 tablespoon Garlic paste
- 1 teaspoon Pepper
- 2 teaspoons Poppy seed paste
- Water
- Salt (As per taste)

Method |
Soak mutton in a mixture of curd, chilly powder, turmeric, ginger and salt for one hour. Dry roast coriander powder. Powder peeled cardamoms, cinnamon and cloves together.
Heat oil in a pan and fry onions till golden brown. Add garlic, powdered spices, pepper and poppy seeds. Fry for 1 or 2 minutes. Add mutton and curd mixture, simmer on low heat till meat softens. Add some water if it starts sticking to the pan, keep adding water and cooking till it is tender. Brown well when the water finally dries up.
