 Amsulacha Saar (Kokum Kadhi)

  • 1 Grated coconut
  • 2 cups Water
  • 4 sprig Curry leaves
  • 1 Green chilli
  • 1 Red chilli
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds
  • Salt (As per taste)
Soak the kokums overnight in water. Remove the kokums and retain the water.

Grind the coconut with very little water and extract as much coconut milk as possible. Add the coconut milk into the retained water. Mix well.

Heat ghee in a small pan, add the cummin seeds, asafoetida, curry leaves and chopped chillies and allow to crackle.

Pour the seasoning over the coconut milk-kokum mixture. Stir well.

Serve cold or at room temperature, garnished with chopped coriander leaves.
