 Mamsumu Munakai Pulusu (Lamb and Drumstick Curry) 
  • 1/4 kg Drum sticks
  • 2 Onions
  • 1 tablespoon Ghee
  • 1/4 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon Red chilli powder
  • 1 teaspoon Coriander powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Cumin powder
  • 1 tablespoon Ginger-garlic paste
  • 1/4 kg Lamb
  • 1 teaspoon Tamarind pulp
  • 8 Curry leaves
  • 1 bunch Coriander leaves
  • 1 tablespoon Rice
  • Water
  • Salt (As per taste)
Clean and peel drumsticks and cut in 2 1/2" lengths. Finely slice onions and fry in ghee till light brown. Add turmeric, chillies, coriander, cumin, ginger, garlic, salt and lamb.

Fry till liquid dries, then add drumsticks and continue stirring for 1 minutes. Add 4 cups water, tamarind pulp and let them simmer together till the lamb is done. Add whole curry leaves, coriander leaves and rice paste (washed, dried and ground into a paste) which has been mixed smoothly with 1 cup water and add to the kadhi. Cook for 5-10 minutes to thicken a little and serve hot with boiled rice or khichri, achar/chutney and fried pappadoms.
