 Beef Curry 
Ingredients
  • 1 kg Beef
  • 100 grams Onions
  • 1 tablespoon Chopped ginger
  • 4-5 Green chillies
  • 8 Garlic cloves
  • 2 large Tomatoes
  • 2-3 Bay leaves
  • 1 inch Cinnamon
  • 4-5 Cardamoms (green)
  • 4-5 Cloves
  • 2 teaspoons Fennel seeds
  • 1 teaspoon Pepper powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 1 cup Coconut oil
  • 1 1/2 cups Grated coconut
  • 8-10 Curry leaves
  • 2 tablespoons Lemon juice
  • Salt (As per taste)
Method
Grind together the bay leaves, cardamoms, cloves, black pepper seeds and fennel into a course powder. Chop the onions and tomatoes. Cook the beef with 3-4 cups of water, powdered masala, turmeric powder, garlic, ginger, slit green chillies and tomatoes. Cook till the meat is tender and almost dry.
Heat oil in a deep bottomed pan, add mustard seeds and allow to splutter. Add the chopped onions and fry till brown. Add curry leaves and grated coconut and fry for a few minutes till the coconut is evenly brown in colour. Add salt and pepper. Add the cooked beef, lemon juice and simmer for 15 minutes till the beef is completely mixed with the masalas.

Serve hot with rice or chapatis.
